12 Spooky Halloween Dinner Ideas

The Halloween countdown is on, and this week we’re sharing 12 spooky ideas for Halloween dinners to make the big day even more fun. Whether you’re planning a post trick-or-treating dinner or special afternoon lunch, we have ideas to make this Halloween extra special.

1) Severed Toes

AKA pigs-in-a-blanket. Just have a little extra hot dog (or tofu dog) sticking out of one end and add a dab of pastry for the toenail.

2) Spider Web Pizza

Instead of sprinkling cheese over a marina pizza, arrange string cheese in a spider web design. It’ll melt over the pizza in a spooky pattern.

3) Worm Sandwich

Toss spaghetti with a tasty marinara sauce and serve inside a pita. Tell the kids it’s a worm sandwich and they’ll devour it. (Add ground beef or tofu crumbles for some extra “dirt”.)

4) Bat Pot Pie

Cut bat shapes out of pie crust and you’ve got an instant Halloween dinner. (Need pot pie ideas? See them all here.)

5) Eyeball Eggs

Transform deviled eggs into eyeballs with a slice of black olive strategically positioned. You can make a bloodshot version with sliced pimento or roasted red pepper for the veins.

6) Jack O Lantern Grilled Cheese

Cut bread into circles, then cut triangle eyes, nose and mouth out of the top piece of bread. Assemble and grill. Delicious.

7) Swamp Dip

Transform delicious guacamole into swamp “goop” with the addition of black beans. You can make your own or add the beans to store bought for a super fast treat.

8) Eyeball Soup

Stuff bite-sized mozzarella balls (bocconcini) with a sliced pimento olive. Float in a shallow bowl of your favorite tomatoes soup eyeball side up.

9) Brain Noodles

Boil lasagna noodles and cut into wide strips, then toss with marinara sauce. Serve it up in a bowl all mixed up and call them brains. The kids will go crazy.

10) Pumpkin Cheese & Crackers

Use a pumpkin cookie cutter or knife to cut slices of cheese into a pumpkin shape and serve with their favorite crackers.

11) Vampire Bites

Apple lips, mini-marshmallow teeth and strategically positioned almond fangs are as fun to make as they are to eat. Just use peanut butter as your glue, and you’ll have everyone smiling.

12) Twice Baked Potato Mummies

An easy spin on a traditional twice baked potato. Prepare the potato skins and mashed potato filling the usual way, then sprinkle a generous layer of cheese over the bottom 2/3 of the potato to serve as the wrappings, and add two raisins for eyes. Melt under the broiler and dig in.
